Nyack Together for Our Children

My father never finished high school and my mother didn’t go to college. But they championed education. Together, with the teachers who challenged and supported me, they made it possible for me to thrive.

That’s why I’ve devoted myself to education. I teach at Columbia University and lead one of the university’s largest academic programs — shaping curriculum, supporting faculty, and making sure students have the best education possible. I’ve worked with community college students and high school students facing serious hardship. I’ve advised high school teachers and administrators on teaching and learning.

Now I’m bringing that experience home to Nyack, where I live with my wife, Rachel, and our two children. We love this community, and we believe in our schools. We want a school board that works for every child and listens to every family.

I know what it meant to have my parents and teachers support me. That’s the commitment I will make to every child in Nyack. I want each one to have a chance to thrive. That’s why I’m asking for your support. Let’s build the kind of future that every child deserves — together.
